When boron is added into pure diamond, the conductivity, corrosion resistance and oxidation resistance of boron containing diamond are greatly improved compared with ordinary diamond crystals
The boron content in boron containing diamond crystal is generally very low, but it has a significant effect on improving and improving the properties of diamond crystal.
The influence of Boron on diamond is mainly in the following aspects:
① Color: under the microscope, diamond is colorless, blue or black due to different boron content and concentration.
Blue diamond crystal is used as semiconductor material in electronic industry and blue diamond in jewelry industry. Other colored crystals are commonly used as abrasive and tool materials.
② Heat resistance: the initial oxidation temperature of boron containing diamond is 150 ℃ ~ 250 ℃ higher than that of ordinary diamond.
③ Impact toughness: Black boron bearing corundum tools have good impact toughness. Turning tools rarely break when cutting eutectic silicon aluminum alloy, powder titanium alloy, FRP and other materials under intermittent load.
